FROSTBURG, Md. – The Davis & Elkins College women's lacrosse team traveled to Frostburg State University Saturday for their final regular season contest. The Bobcats came away with a 22-4 Mountain East Conference win.
Frostburg State would score four goals in the first period to take a 4-0 lead. The Bobcats would find the net five times in the second frame, D&E would find it once to make the score 9-1 at the break. FSU outscored the Senators 8-0 to take a 17-1 lead into the final 15 minutes.
Ari Hinton would score a hat-trick in the fourth period and Frostburg State would add five goals to make the final score 22-4.
Hinton led Davis & Elkins with four goals.
Marissa Cuevas had a team high nine ground balls. Cuevas had 17 saves in goal.
Davis & Elkins finishes the regular season 5-10 overall and 2-6 in the MEC.
Frostburg State finishes 9-6 and 7-1 in the league.
The Senators have earned the four seed in the MEC tournament and will play at number one seeded Notre Dame College on Thursday.
