BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Both Senator cross country programs enjoyed a strong day of racing with three program all-time bests set during the Forty-eight Annual Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University.
Â
Emeric Arnaud ran a 23:58 8k time, which bettered D&E's all-time best set in 1987 by Jeff Trump by twelve seconds. Trump's time was set at the 1987 NAIA National Championships when he finished 4th place earning All-American status.
Â
The men's team average was also an all-time best team average. The men compiled an average time of 25:12 for the Men's 8k. The average was bolstered by nine men running 25:59 and below; also a program best.
Â
The Senator men raced in the very competitive "brown" race where the men finished fourteenth out of forty-five teams, beating at least fifteen Division I programs.Â
Â
The women finished thirty-ninth in the brown race. Approximately thirty Division I teams competed in the race.
Â
The D&E Cross Country teams will be back in action in three weeks when they compete at the Lock Haven hosted "Go Fast Run" Invitational. It will be the last regular season meet before the start of the championship season.Â
