ELKINS, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins women's tennis got off to a good start, taking two of three doubles matches for an early lead in a 5-2 home loss to West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday. 

Serving as the regular season finale for the Senators, the team recognized lone senior Karin Rosario prior to the match. Once play began, the number one doubles duo of Taylor Newman and Chavana Sreenath held off their counterparts in a 6-3 win. Rosario and Carter Nettina nabbed a 6-1 victory at number two doubles. 

In singles action, Newman rolled to a 6-0, 6-1 triumph. Rosario battled in an extended singles matchup, ultimately dropping a narrow decision.
