Women's Tennis Downed by Regionally-Ranked West Liberty

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- Facing one of its toughest challenges of the 2021 season, Davis & Elkins women's tennis dropped a 6-1 road decision to West Liberty on Monday afternoon. 

Taylour Newman kept up her string singles play with a hard-fought 7-5, 6-4 triumph, which pushed her singles record to 4-1 on the season. In doubles action, Newman occupied the top spot along with Chavana Sreenath in a 6-4 win. 

While West Liberty snagged the doubles point, the Senator duo of Cara Long and Karin Rosario went back and forth in a 6-3 defeat at the number two position. WLU entered the day ranked fifth in the Atlantic Region poll.
