Women's Tennis Toppled by MEC Preseason Favorite Charleston (W.Va.)

ELKINS, W.Va. -- Back on the court for the second time this week, Davis & Elkins women's tennis fell to Charleston (W.Va.) by a 7-0 count on Wednesday afternoon at a sun-soaked Thomas Tennis Center. 

Taylour Newman played one of the closest matches of the day, suffering a 6-3, 6-4 setback at No. 2 singles. Chavana Sreenath made her season debut, slotting in at the No. 1 singles spot while partnering with Newman at No. 1 doubles. 

Carter Nettina pushed her opponent in the early moments at No. 3 singles, before falling 6-4, 6-1. 

UC pushed its record to 3-2 on the season and D&E drops to 0-2. Full results from the day are below:
