After cancelling its previously scheduled games this week, the D&E softball team has a chance to play its first games in the stats of West Virginia this season. The Senators open the weekend stretch with a doubleheader against Mercyhurst at 4:00 PM before heading back to Tennessee to play Tusculum on Sunday, February 23.

Honesty Holt will look to continue her stellar play after earning Mountain East Conference (MEC) Athlete of the Week accolades following a .684 stretch at the plate in six games. In the circle, senior
Ryn Boelter has logged 24.2 innings and boasts a 3-1 record. Senior
Rhetta Persinger leads the team with six RBI, while
Olivia Smith made a big impact at the plate with a grand slam last weekend.
Mercyhurst has yet to start the 2020 campaign after its trip to Nashville was cancelled. The Lakers went 9-34 last season and were picked sixth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western division. Tusculum and D&E played to a no contest earlier this year on February 10, a game the Senators tied at two before rain and unplayable field conditions finished the doubleheader.

Davis & Elkins men's lacrosse is home for the second consecutive weekend to start the 2020 season, welcoming Chowan to Nuttall Field for a 1:00 PM matchup on Saturday in a Code Red game. The Senators are looking to bounce back from a loss to seventh-ranked Seton Hill to start the season last weekend, while Chowan wraps up its trip to West Virginia after facing Alderson Broaddus on February 20.
Tyler Kolodka found the back of the net three times against the Griffins and has notched a team-high four points on five shots.
Aidan O'Dwyer,
Michael Holstein and
Tycen Allan have caused two turnovers each and
David Thorne Jr logged 18 saves last time out.
Chowan is paced offensively by Austin Lee, who has fired in 17 goals for the Hawks.

In search of its first win of the 2020 season, Davis & Elkins continues its two-meet homestand on Saturday against Concordia (Wis.) at 6:00 PM. The Senators earned wins in seven different heats, but narrowly dropped its opener against Urbana on February 8.
Aubrey Perry was named the most outstanding athlete for the Senators as part of the "Beauty & the Beast" event last time out. The Senators set several program-bests against the Blue Knights and look to continue that momentum this Saturday.
Concordia knocked off Georgetown College on February 9 for its first win of the season.
