ELKINS -
The Senators Women's Lacrosse team picked up their tenth win of the season by defeating rival Alderson Broaddus 14-10 on Saturday at Nuttall Field.
The win keeps D&E alive in the GMAC playoff race, and is the first win in nine tries over AB.
The Senators jumped out to an early 6-0 lead behind three goals from
Ryann Sumner, two from
Angelina Horan, and one from
Morgan Graham just twelve minutes into the game.
That lead would prove to be insurmountable, as the Senators kept the lead in distance over the visiting Battlers.
Both
Ryann Sumner and
Angelina Horan would finish with five goals each.
Kaitlin Howell and
Casey Johnson would also find the net for D&E.
Hanna Bond tied
Angelina Horan with five ground balls, and Bond also added a goal late in the first half.
Anahi Gomez had two ground balls for the Senators.
Ebele de la Bay Coffie got the win in goal, with nine saves on 19 shots.
The Senators will head to Walsh on Wednesday for a pivotal GMAC showdown. Start time in North Canton is at 5 PM.
