The Senators built up an insurmountable early lead on Saturday against Felician University at Nuttall Field, and rode out that lead to a 21-7 win, their first of the season.
The Senators jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first period, behind goals from
Tyler Kolodka, Matt Dyck,
Matt O'Dwyer, two from
Kyle Durec,
Ian Nelson, and
Haydn Sitler.
O'Dwyer and Noland Morrison would add two more each early in the second period to take an 11-0 lead over the Marlins.
The Senators continued to score at will, and the Marlins could only cut the deficit as close as 12 in the second half.
Haydn Sitler assisted on four goals, while Morrison and
Matt O'Dwyer had four goals scored each.
Kyle Durec finished with three goals and two assists and had four ground balls.
Bobby Palermo had two goals and five ground balls, and Mike Holstein added five ground balls.
Dique Reid,
Bryce McBee, and
Trevor Nailor scored their first goals of the season for the Senators.
Kyle Seago got the win in goal, with six saves and two goals allowed in the first half. David Thorne had 16 saves in the second half for D&E.
The Senators will return to the field on Saturday to take on Walsh in a GMAC matchup. Start time is set for 12 PM in North Canton, Ohio.
