Shorthanded Senators Give Cedarville All They Can Handle in Overtime Loss

ELKINS, W.Va. - Shorthanded Senators give Cedarville all they can handle in overtime loss.

Edmund Parker scored 37 points to lead the Senators into an overtime loss to Cedarville 96-84.

Even with only three options on the bench and knowing they were going to have a tough opponent in the Yellow Jackets, who currently sit fourth in the G-MAC standings, the Senators worked hard and had a great start in the game.

D&E maintained the lead for the most part of the half, losing it only in the last minute, taking a 36-35 deficit into the break.

Parker had scored 12 points by the end of the first half but he really came into action in the second period, shooting crucial three-pointers that kept the Senators alive.

Even with Parker's big performance for the Senators, the Yellow Jackets kept pushing and turned the game into a very close battle as both teams kept switching the lead back and forth.

The last five minutes of the period were quite intense as the game was tied in 72-72. The visitors even took the lead but D&E managed to take the game to overtime.

Things started working better for Cedarville, who scored a couple of three-pointers, jumping ahead on the scoreboard. The Senators gave them a hard time but weren't able to catch up, losing the battle by 96-84.

Edmund Parker finished the game with incredible 37 points for the second game in a row.

Donte Doleman was the second leader in points, counting 12 in tonight's game. Doleman also picked up six rebounds and four assists.

Senior Logan Phillips helped D&E scoring 11 points and collecting five rebounds.
