Women's Soccer Welcomes for West Liberty Key MEC Matchup

Women's soccer will take on West Liberty for the first time this season in a critical game for the Senators as they fight for a postseason berth. The Senators are 6-5-1 in MEC play, currently sitting one spot back of third-place Charleston (W. Va.) for a berth in the conference tournament. D&E is coming off an overtime victory against Wheeling on Saturday following a game-winner rom Brianna Rose, while the Hilltoppers are 3-9-4 on the season. Last year, the two teams played to a scoreless tie in their only match.  
 
In addition to Rose, Alexandra Cantarelli and Chelsi Jadoo each recorded their first career goal in the win over the Cardinals last week.

The Senators aim to get back to .500 and score the season sweep over MEC foe West Liberty on Wednesday night at Nuttall Field. Markus Just scored twice in a 3-2 victory on Oct. 20, and D&E is coming off a 2-1 victory against Wheeling on Saturday where Just scored the go-ahead marker. D&E currently sits fifth in the MEC, one spot out of the conference tournament at the time of release. The Hilltoppers currently sit at 3-12-1 on the season and are eliminated from postseason play.

Swim Teams Back Home to Face Alderson Broaddus

The senators swimming teams will look to build off their performance at the West Virginia State Games in a dual meet against former G-MAC rival Alderson Broaddus. This meet will serve as a great opportunity to build experience, as the Senators should fill out a large portion of the competitor pool. The men's team has won three in a row against AB and the women's team aims to stay perfect in dual meets, taking a five-meet win streak against the Battlers to the pool on Friday.

D&E volleyball looks to continue their four-match win streak with two conference matches this weekend inside The McDonnell Center. The Senators are currently tied for third place in the MEC standings with five conference matches remaining on their schedule. Kaitlyn LaCour has been outstanding of late, recording eight straight double-digit kill games. Friday night's match against Frostburg State will be Kylie Heyne's first time coaching against her alma mater, while Saturday's match against Fairmont State will be the first meeting of the season between the two schools. D&E has not defeated the Falcons since 2016, and two wins this weekend would be pivotal for MEC tournament seeding.

Wrestling Set for First Tournament at W&J Invite 
Saturday, November 9 | at W&J Invite | Henry Memorial Center | Washington, Pa. 
 
Following their first dual match win against Alderson Broaddus last Friday, the Senators wrestling team will compete in their first individual tournament at the W&J Invite hosted by Washington & Jefferson University on Saturday. The Senators are one of 15 programs competing, and will enter their full roster, giving several wrestlers their first collegiate action.  D&E picked up seven consecutive wins against the Battlers, earning bonus points in each of the victories. Shawn Moore, Craig Cook, Nicholas Natarcola, Anthony Pencook, John Finnerty, Clifton Ruggiero and Noah Tarr all picked up wins for the Senators last time out.

Women's Soccer Caps Regular Season Against West Virginia Wesleyan

D&E will close out their regular season on Sunday, looking to finish the season sweep of rival West Virginia Wesleyan at 1:00 PM on Sunday. The Senators defeated the Bobcats in Buckhannon on October 3rd, as Roxanne McFarlin scored the only goal of the game off a scramble in front. Katie Clarke recorded eight saves in goal for the shutout victory, and the Senators enter must-win territory to keep their MEC Tournament hopes alive. The youthful Senators will celebrate their five seniors before the game, as Samantha Cozzolino, Angelina HoranAsheli Freed, Chelsi Jadoo, and Roxine Chambers will take Nuttall Field for the final time.

Following a tight 1-0 loss on October 3, the Senators will aim to close the regular season by avenging the earlier defeat to West Virginia Wesleyan, finishing out the home slate against the Bobcats on Sunday at Nuttall Field. The Senators fired off nine shots unsuccessfully in the 1-0 defeat, hoping to bring home field advantage to the MEC matchup. It will be Senior Day for D&E, which will celebrate the program's five seniors before the game. Everton Carvalho, Felipe Polycarpo, Abel Ameyaw, Victor Pires, and Miguel Rodriguez will take Nuttall Field for the final time on Sunday.
