Volleyball hits the road to square off with Salem (W. Va.) for the second time this season. Davis & Elkins battled back for a 3-2 conference win at Notre Dame (Ohio) on Saturday, powered by a 21-kill effort by Kaitlyn LaCour. The Senators swept Salem at The McDonnell Center earlier this season on September 24, recording the team's third consecutive victory at the time. D&E emptied the bench against the Tigers as 11 different players registered a kill in the win. Davis & Elkins enters the week fourth in the conference standings with one more conference win than Notre Dame (Ohio) and West Liberty.

Solei Daniels and Raleighanne Weaver posted seven kills each against Salem, while four players hit .400 or better. The Senators have jumped to 13th in the country in blocks/set (2.42), led by Weaver (1.01 blk/set), Lillie Mueller (.91 blk/set) and Mya Mintschenko (.82). Salem continues its tough season, entering the match with one win this season against Bluefield State on October 18.

Set to take the field for game action for the first time in a week, Davis & Elkins will look to erase the sour taste of a 6-0 defeat to Concord last time out. The Senators enter the week third in the MEC South Division standings, just one spot ahead of Charleston in fourth. Asheli Freed continues to lead the D&E offense with five goals, four assists and 14 points on 40 shots. Freed is one of three players, along with Hope Osborn and Samantha Cozzolino, to start in all 13 games this season for D&E. The Senators are looking to break free from a tough stretch, posting a 1-2-1 record over the last four games.

Charleston dropped a 1-0 decision to West Virginia Wesleyan last time out on the road and have a 2-2 record over the last four games. Keira Hill (5G, 4A, 14 Pts) and Evelina Von Euler (2G, 2A, 6 Pts) are leading the offensive charge for the Golden Eagles this season.

Davis & Elkins attempts to rebound from a 1-0 home loss to Urbana last time out on Sunday with a contest against the top team in the MEC standings. D&E allowed a quick goal in a 4-1 loss to Charleston (W. Va.) on September 18 at an energized Nuttall Field. After consecutive wins, the Senators could not find the scoresheet against Urbana on Sunday, and enter the week sixth in the MEC standings. Victor Pires scored a goal in the 64th minute against the Golden Eagles and leads the team with three markers in 2019.

Charleston has not lost a game in regulation since September 11 against Bellarmine. The Golden Eagles have scored multiple times in 11 of the last 12 games.
