Davis & Elkins will look to even the season series with MEC South Division leading Concord on Wednesday afternoon. The game was moved from the Concord campus to the Cline Sports Complex in Beckley after heavy rain made the Mountain Lions home facility unplayable. Davis & Elkins begins a three-game road swing on Wednesday following an impressive 4-0 shutout of Glenville State at Nuttall Field on October 20. Four different players scored a goal for D&E in the home win, including the first career goal for
Raquel Lewis,
Hope Osborn and
Madeline Stevenson.
Samantha Cozzolino also recorded her second goal of the season in the win as D&E ended a three-game scoreless skid in a big way.
Asheli Freed (5G, 4A, 14 Pts, 40 Sh) and
Nariana Nealy (3G, 2A, 8 Pts, 37 Sh) continue to lead the way offensively for the Senators with eight of the team's 15 goals in 2019.
Katie Clarke (44 SV, 3 SO) and
Sierra Curtis (21 SV, 2 SO) continue to split time in goal for the Senators.
Concord enters the conference matchup on a six-game winning streak, most recently a 2-0 shutout victory over West Virginia Wesleyan. The Mountain Lions avenged their only regular season loss with the victory against the Bobcats and are the only team in the conference with 10 or more overall victories in 2019. The Mountain Lions recorded a 1-0 victory over Davis & Elkins at Nuttall Field back on September 21 as Courtney Wallace recorded the only marker of the game in the 14th minute. Concord is paced by the dynamic scoring duo of Rachel Bell (11G, 2A, 24 Pts, 71 Sh) and Leah Foster (7G, 8A, 22 Pts, 45 Sh) while Katie Maher owns a 5-1 record in goal.
