TIFFIN, Ohio -
The Davis & Elkins College Men's Basketball team lost in a down-to-the-wire finish on the road against the Tiffin Dragons on Thursday night.
Tiffin jumped out to an early lead 10-4, but the Senators went on a 7-0 run to take the lead midway through the first half, holding a 44-40 advantage going into the locker room.
The two teams would exchange leads through most of the first half, with Tiffin taking a 76-67 lead with 7:13 remaining in the game.
The Senators would rally to tie the game at 83 with 2:31 left, but the Dragons held off D&E in the final possession to close out an 89-88 final score.
Trevor English led the way for the Senators, with a season-high 30 points and 15 rebounds on 14 for 25 shooting.
Logan Phillips added a double-double of his own, with 17 points and 10 boards.
Erkam Kiris had 12 points and seven rebounds of his own, and
Marcus Friend was also in double digits, with 12 points and four assists.
The Senators will look to bounce back on the road against Cedarville on Saturday. Start time has been moved to 1:15 PM due to impending weather in the area.
