ELKINS, W.Va. - The Davis and Elkins College Women's Lacrosse team fell to Lake Erie College 21-3 this evening at Nuttall Field in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference contest.

The Senators scored twice with Samantha Cozzolino and once with Gabby Fagan but weren't able to stop the league leaders in Lake Erie.

The visitors started strong scoring five goals in the first seven minutes of the game.

D&E would cut the difference by one, getting an unassisted goal by Fagan, with 21:29 left in the first half.

Lake Erie would go on to break D&E's defense seven more times in the first half.

Before the end of the first period, the Senators would put one more in the back of the net with sophomore Cozzolino's unassisted effort, to make it 12-2 before the break.

Lake Erie came back from halftime with another strong start, getting three goals in the first six minutes of the half.

Cozzolino would score once more for the Senators, on another unassisted effort, seven minutes into the second half after winning a draw control.

The team from Ohio responded quickly with another goal one minute later and five more later on to end the game with the final score of 21-3.

Fagan and Cozzolino won three draw controls each and they also led the way for the Senators with two ground balls each, along with D&E's goalkeeper, Ebele De La Bay Coffie, who made 20 stops against Lake Erie.
