VIENNA, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Basketball team fell to Ohio Valley University in a second-half collapse Saturday afternoon in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
The Senators opened up as much as a 15-point lead in the first half, as the Senators took a 50-38 lead into the halftime break.
However, the hosts would need just nine minutes in the second half to erase the 12-point deficit. The Fighting Scots then used a 12-0 run late in the second half to pull away from the Senators.
Patrick Wilburn led the Senators in the losing effort, recording his first collegiate doubleheader. Wilburn finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds, leading the Senators in both categories.
Wilburn also led the Senators with three steals.
Edmund Parker and
Donte Doleman joined Wilburn in double figures, recording 18 and 13 points, respectively. Parker and Doleman were also second and third for the Senators in rebounds, finishing with eight and six. Doleman led the Senators with four assists.
Davis & Elkins will return home to face Glenville State in the final game of 2018 for the Senators, as they host the Pioneers on Monday. Tipoff is set for noon at the McDonnell Center.
