ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College Women's Lacrosse team fell to West Virginia Wesleyan College 16-8 on Wednesday night at Nuttall Field.
Gabby Fagan led the way for the Senators as she scored four goals, including two of the first three goals in the game, giving the Senators a 2-1 lead early on.
However, one of the big stories of the night was both Senators seniors scored on their Senior Night.
Natalie Green picked up her goal with four minutes remaining in the first half, snapping a five-goal run for the visitors.
Green also finished with a ground ball, caused turnover and a draw control.
Bethany Fulk scored her goal in the second half, snapping a six-goal run for West Virginia Wesleyan.
Savannah Stanford and
Kathleen Shaw also scored for the Senators on the night. The two players shared the team high in draw controls with
Tonisha Washington, with each player recording three.
Stanford and
Desma Feather led the team with four ground balls each.
Lydia Eichorst led with three caused turnovers on the night.
Morgan Graham and
Sonja Skinner each had two caused turnovers.
The Senators will return to action on Saturday with the final home game of the season, taking on Alderson Broaddus in G-MAC play. The game is set for a 12:00 p.m. start.
