ELKINS – The Davis & Elkins College Men's Basketball team fell to rival Alderson Broaddus 63-66 Saturday afternoon at the McDonnell Center.
The Senators (9-11, 4-2 G-MAC) overcame a first half deficit and opened up an 11-point lead in the second half. However, the Battlers (9-10, 5-1 G-MAC) went on a 13-0 run over five minutes to take a 57-55 lead.
The teams traded the lead twice more before the visitors grabbed the lead for good, holding off the Senators efforts to tie and take the lead with alternating possessions.
Kevin Bracy-Davis led the Senators with his ninth double-double of the season. The senior had team highs with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Bracy-Davis has scored in double digits in all 20 games this season.
Jordan McElveen finished with nine points, while
Kevin Simpson had eight points.
Rickenjee Bellevue and
Trevor English had seven points each. Bellevue and Simpson were second and third on the team with nine and eight rebounds, respectively.
The Senators will return to the road for the first of two straight away from Elkins on Thursday when they travel to Cedarville. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
