Box Score Elkins, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins College men's lacrosse team fell to a sudden death overtime loss against the University of Alabama at Huntsville on Sunday, April 3.
The Basics:
- Score: Davis & Elkins 9, Alabama-Huntsville 10
- Records: D&E (0-5), UAH (2-6)

How it Happened:
- Alabama Huntsville opened scoring after five minutes of close action from both teams. D&E responded 40 seconds later with Patrick Schneck scoring the first ever goal at Nuttall Field for the men's program.
- The Chargers scored two more goals before Schneck doubled his tally for D&E near the end of the first quarter.
- UAH extended their lead and kept D&E scoreless in the second quarter to lead 5-2 at half time.
- The Senators surged after the break scoring five goals to take the lead before the Chargers could answer. Jay Baumgardner scored four of the goals in the third quarter while Schneck completed his hat-trick. UAH pulled one back to cut D&E's lead to 7-6.
- The back and fourth game continued with the Charger tying the score and then taking the lead before Baumgardner fired in his fifth goal on the day. Alabama Huntsville pulled ahead with 3:37 left to play but D&E replied, with Baumgardner capping his performance with a sixth goal with under two minutes left.
- The teams couldn't be separated after four quarters so overtime was required. Jonathan Scoggins made a big save against a shot from UAH but could not keep out a follow up effort as the team fell to the 10-9 loss.
