Game One

The Basics

  • Score: 1-5  
  • Records: Davis & Elkins (13-6) – Tiffin (10-7)
  • Location: Joni Smith Softball Field, Elkins, West Virginia

How it Happened:

  • Alyssa Cairns reached on a fielder's choice in the top of the first inning.  Taylor Norton then singled advancing Cairns who came around to score on an Allie Lapallo base hit to give the Senators a 1-0 advantage.
  • D&E and Tiffin swapped scoreless frames until the top of the seventh inning.  The Dragons scored five runs on six hits and the Senators were not able to score any runs in the bottom half of the inning.
  • Jena King and Michelle Poe both had two hits for the Dragons.
  • Allie Lapallo took the loss allowing nine hits, five earned runs and five strikeouts.

Game Two

  • Score: 0-8
  • Records: Davis & Elkins (13-7) – Tiffin (11-7)
  • Location: Joni Smith Softball Field, Elkins, West Virginia

How it Happened:

  • Tiffin scored first in the top of the first inning.  Michelle Poe homered over the left field fence to put the Dragons up 2-0.
  • Tiffin was able to score three more runs in the top of the third inning on three hits and a D&E error, two runs on two hits and two errors in the top of the fourth inning and then one more run in the top of the top of the fifth inning to make the score 8-0.
  • Cassandra Brown, Jamie Sevenish and Michelle Poe all had two hits for the Dragons.
  • Taylor Norton had two hits for D&E.
  • Victoria Krystynak suffered the loss for the Senators, giving up five runs on six hits.  Taylor Norton in relief gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits.  Sara Tobin, also in relief secured the final out for D&E.

 Senator Synopsis:

"Today was very disappointing", said head coach Kimberly Stiles.  "Tiffin is a good team, but we did not play to our ability.  We need to come out stronger tomorrow and play good softball".

What's Next: 
The Senators take Glenville State in a doubleheader on Wednesday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the Joni Smith Softball Field.
