How it Happened:

Alyssa Cairns hit a three run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Senators on the board first.

Kentucky Wesleyan answered back in the top of the second inning. Kaci Ovelgoenner hit a solo shot over the centerfield fence.

D&E was able to capitilize on three hits in the bottom of the inning to score two more runs before Alyssa Cairns hit her second home run of the game in the third inning.

The Panthers made the score 6-2 on back to back doubles in the fourth inning but were not able to score any more runs in the game.

The Senators used hits from Allie Lapallo, Katelyn Norton, Katlyn Huffman and a Panther error to add four more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and end the game early.

Alyssa Cairns had two homes runs and four RBI. Katelyn Norton and Katlyn Huffman both had two hits including RBI doubles.

Lapallo worked the full seven innings in the circle, allowing four hits with two strikeouts.

Neither team was able to score through two complete innings.

The Panthers took advantage of a D&E miscue and an RBI double of the bat of Delaney Mixer to score the game's only run in the top of the fourth inning.

Sydney Turner had two hits for the Senators.

Allie Lapallo suffered the loss in the circle without giving up an earned run. She had six strikeouts and allowed four hits with six strike outs.
Senator Synopsis:
"We did not hit the ball as well as we have been in the second game today" said head coach Kimberly Stiles. "I was very happy with the way we played in game one, we just were unable to keep the momentum rolling".
