HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One: D&E 3, PU 1
- D&E opened the scoring in the fourth inning, tabbing a run from Travis Phelps through a Tyler Mason single right to center.
- Philadelphia University hit back in the bottom of the fourth, notching a run to tie the score.
- Mason earned another RBI in the top of the sixth with a ground rule double down the right field line, as Tyler Honeycutt scored to put the Senators ahead again. Michael Wood set up another scoring run, singling to the pitcher as Phelps earned his second run of the game. D&E held the two run margin to take game one.
- Zach Bradfield (W, 2-2) pitched seven innings, giving up four hits and one run but tabbing six strikeouts.
Game Two: D&E 1, PU 2
- Philadelphia struck back in game two, scoring a run in the first inning to take the lead. The Rams doubled their lead with another scoring run in the third.
- The Senators responded with a run from Travis Phelps in the fourth through a Ryan Butts RBI single to right field.
- However, Philadelphia starting pitcher Fernando Garza held on to complete the game victory, only giving up one run on four hits.
- Austin Main pitched six innings giving up four hits, two runs while notching one strikeout.
