How It Happened:

• The Davis & Elkins College women's basketball team dropped their final game of the regular season, 63-46, against Cedarville University on Saturday, February 27. 
• The Yellow Jackets were quick off the mark, scoring 10 points without an answer from the Senators. Sydney Turner knocked down a three-point basket to get D&E on the board, however CU extended their lead to be ahead 21-8 at the end of the first quarter.
• Cedarville continued to build the gap, shooting 40% (6 for 15) from beyond the arc, to end the half in front 36-20. Turner made another three-point basket before the buzzer, much to the delight of the home crowd.
• However, despite D&E's best efforts in the second half the team could not reel in their conference opponent. Cedarville led by as many as 22 points in the third quarter and coasted to the 63-46 win.
• The Yellow Jackets shot 32.8% (21 for 64) from the floor and 25% (6 for 24) from outside compared to 25.4% (15 for 59) and 21.4% (6 for 28) by the Senators. The Jackets also out rebounded the home side 52 to 37.
• Stephanie Wooten led the Senators with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Turner posted 12 points and 4 rebounds while Caitlyn O'Neal and Tajee Pledger both finished on 5 points. Alicia Roth led the team on defense with 8 rebounds and 2 steals.
• Abby Wolford posted a game-high 17 points for the Yellow Jackets, who finished with three players in double-digit scoring.
• The game marked senior day for Hannah Carl who was presented with a framed jersey before tip-off.
