How It Happened:

• The Davis & Elkins College men's basketball team put in a confident display en route to an 87-74 win against Cedarville University on Saturday, February 27.
• D&E started the game in commanding style with senior Aleksandar Vasiljevic opening scoring with a three-point basket. TJ Owens and Kevin Bracy-Davis quickly followed with three-pointers of their own to help the Senators establish a 7 point lead in the first five minutes.
• The Yellow Jackets cut the deficit down to as little as one point during the half but the home side continued their solid play to lead by 6 points at the break.
• Vasiljevic kicked off the second half just as he started the first, draining a basket from outside the arc. Owens would also quickly add in 8 points, including two three-point baskets of his own, as part of a 9-4 scoring run that helped D&E extend their lead to 13 points.
• The Senators continued their hot outside shooting (55% in the second half) to keep the Yellow Jackets at bay and close out the 87-74 win.
• TJ Owens led the Senators on offense with 22 points, 15 of which came in the second half. Owens shot 62.5% (5 for 8) from three-point range on the night. Bracy-Davis added in 18 points, 2 assists and 2 blocks. Vasiljevic ended his senior game with 16 points, a game-high 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Kevin Simpson also chipped in 14 points for the night.
• The Senators shot 55.6% (30 for 54) from the floor and 45.8% (11 for 24) from beyond the arc, compared to 43.3% (29 for 67) and 30.4% (7 for 23) by the Yellow Jackets. D&E also out rebounded CU and scored 17 points off turnovers, compared to only 7 points by their conference foe.
