How It Happened:

• The Davis & Elkins College men's basketball team was powerless to stop Kentucky Wesleyan College on Saturday, January 16, as the Panthers strolled to an 88-56 win in The McDonnell Center. 
• A 24-3 scoring run in the first five minutes of the second half helped KWC build a comfortable lead. 
• The Senators struggled to score on the night, shooting only 28.6% from the floor and 16.7% from outside compared to 62.1% and 52.4% from the Panthers.
• Wesley Sprinkle led D&E with 13 points and 3 rebounds, Edmund Parker followed with 11 points and 5 rebounds while Jordan McElveen added 10 points and 8 rebounds. Aleksandar Vasiljevic led on defense with 9 rebound and 3 steals for the night.
• CJ Blackwell posted a game-high 23 points and 5 rebounds for Kentucky Welseyan. Jordan Jacks and Marcus Fillyaw finished with 18 points and 12 points respectively.

Senator Synopsis:

"We're searching for a team effort when adversity hits us in the face. We, collectively, have to get mentally tougher against team's that guard us with pressure and be disciplined enough to stay the course. Give Kentucky Wesleyan much credit in deterring us as they have done to opponents all year. We have some soul searching to do before Thursday's match up at OVU.
