How It Happened:

• A 17 point unanswered run in the second quarter helped D&E on their way to securing an 87-65 win over Salem International University on Tuesday, January 12.
• Four D&E players posted double digits in points on the night to cap a team performance. Kali Wilburn led the charge with 16 points, Caitlyn O'Neal made all 5 of her three point attempts to post 15. Stephanie Wooten finished with 14 points and Sydney Turner pitched in 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists.
• The Senators opened scoring with a three-point basket from Turner and closed the first quarter with another three, this time from Caitlyn O'Neal. The basket ignited a second quarter blitz that would see the team take a commanding 16-point lead.
• Further baskets and three-point shooting from Wilburn, Caitlyn O'Neal, Turner and Aliyah Dukes helped D&E pile on the pressure in the third quarter.
• A 13-2 scoring run, sparked by Wooten, saw the Senators extend their margin in the fourth quarter to secure their first conference win of the season.
• D&E made 60.9% (14 out of 23) of their three point attempts compared to SIU who shot only 40.9%.
