SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Senators drop season opener to Wilmington University.

The Basics

• Score: 3-0, (25-12, 25-11, 25-14)

• The Short Story:  The Wildcats took the first set 25-12 and went on to win the match 3-0, defeating D&E 25-11 in the second set and 25-14 in the third and final set.

How it Happened

• Two separate six point runs allowed the Wildcats to pull ahead of D&E in the first set.  Alex Siolos led Wilmington with four kills and three service aces.
• In the second set, Wilmington jumped out to a 5-0 lead on D&E and never looked back – capitalizing on strong offensive play and D&E errors.  
• A series of attack errors led to an 11-0 deficit in the final set that the Senators couldn't overcome.  Alex Siolos led all players with 10 kills in the match.

"I think we came out with a lot of excitement and nervousness," said first year Head Coach Kylie Carrington.  "We definitely let our nerves get the best of us.  Looking forward, we know what adjustments we need to make and we are ready for the rest of the weekend."
