LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio – Davis & Elkins sophomore Alistair Cameron claimed a wire-to-wire victory at the G-MAC Championships on Tuesday.
Cameron opened the tournament with a 76 in Monday morning's first round. He shot the lowest score of the tournament in Monday afternoon's second round, finishing with a 75, and secured the low medalist honors with a 78 in Tuesday's final round. The Buckinghamshire, England native carded a total score of 229, six shots better than Alderson Broaddus' James Jefferies (235), who finished second.
As a team, Davis & Elkins ended up fifth in the six team event with a total score of 1006. Kollin Hopwood notched 13th with a score of 251 (85-84-82). James Sutherland tallied a 254 (82-84-88) to finish 15th. Fraser Paul shot a 278 (90-96-92), and Dakota Sisk finished with a 296 (96-114-86).
Trevecca won the team title with a score of 982 (328-332-322), which was one shot better than Alderson Broaddus (983).
Cameron's victory earned him all-conference status, and marks the second year in a row a D&E golfer has claimed the top spot at the G-MAC Championship.
