Box Score 2 ELKINS, W.Va. – Conference-leader Trevecca Nazarene University swept a Saturday afternoon doubleheader against Davis & Elkins College. The Trojans claimed a 3-0 decision in game one, and took game two, 8-2.
TNU plated a run in the second inning with an RBI single and added a two-run homer in the sixth to set the 6-0 margin.
Allie Lapallo (11-6) gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits and struck out three.
In game two, TNU used three long balls to take a 6-0 lead after two innings. Kaitlyn Daugherty was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score the first Senator run. Kayla Whoolery picked up a RBI with a fielder's choice, trimming the deficit to 6-2. The Trojans added two more runs in the sixth to secure the 8-2 win.
Victoria Krystynak (5-3) tossed 1.1 innings, surrendering four runs on four hits with one strikeout and one walk. Autumn Appleby worked 5.2 innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out three and walking one.
D&E hosts West Virginia Tech on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
