ELKINS, W.Va. – Davis & Elkins and Cedarville split a pair of conference contests on Sunday afternoon. D&E took game one, 5-0, while the Yellow Jackets claimed a 7-1 decision in game two.

Bryant Hines sing led home a run in the first and scored on a double by Ryan Dodson to give D&E a 2-0 lead after one inning. A CU error allowed D&E to add a pair of insurance runs in the sixth and Dylan Appel drove home one to propel the Senators to the 5-0 victory.

Jake Smith (1-4) was masterful on the mound, allowing just two hits and striking out one to earn the complete game shutout.

In game two, CU's Drew Johnson singled home a pair of runs in the third inning. Will Kendrick worked a bases-loaded free pass in the fourth to cut the deficit in half at 2-1. Cedarville added single runs in the seventh and eighth, before putting the game away with a three-run ninth to set the 7-1 final.

Tyler Honeycutt (1-5) surrendered four runs on 13 hits and walked three in 7.1 innings on the mound. Tyler Mason allowed three runs (one earned) on two hits and walked one in 1.2 innings on the bump.

D&E hosts Seton Hill on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
