FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Fayetteville State swept Davis & Elkins on Wednesday afternoon. The Broncos claimed a 2-1 win in game one and earned a 5-2 victory in game two.

FSU manufactured a pair of runs in the fourth inning with a RBI groundout and a sacrifice fly to pull in front, 2-0. Taylor Norton doubled home a run in the seventh, but D&E fell, 2-1.

Allie Lapallo (2-2) tossed the complete game, giving up two runs on three hits with a pair of strikeouts.

In game two, Fayetteville State used a sacrifice fly and a RBI single to take a 2-0 lead in the third inning. A two-run double in the fifth coupled with a D&E error made the score 5-0. Katelyn Norton got the Senators on the scoreboard in the sixth with a two-run homer. The Falcons closed the door from there on the 5-2 win.

Autumn Appleby (0-3) surrendered two runs on three hits while striking out one and walking three during 2.2 innings in the circle. Victoria Krystynak hurled 3.1 innings, allowing three runs on three hits with three walks and striking out one.

Davis & Elkins travels to Glenville State on Tuesday.
