Box Score 2 LAURINBURG, N.C. – Davis & Elkins and St. Andrews split a doubleheader on Monday afternoon. The Senators ran away with a 19-0 win in game one, but dropped a 3-2 decision in game two.
Davis & Elkins plated 10 runs in the second inning, eight in the third and one in the fifth to set the 19-0 margin in game one.
Kayla Dianna was 2-for-2 with a grand slam, five RBI and three runs scored. Taylor Norton lined a pair of doubles and drove in two during game one.
Alexandra Lapallo (2-1) worked the complete game, giving up three hits, striking out four and walking one.
In game two, the Knights got a RBI single and a two-run homer in the fourth inning to pull ahead, 3-0. Lapallo trimmed the deficit to one at 3-2 with a two-run blast of her own in the seventh, but it wasn't enough, as St .Andrews held on for the 3-2 win.
Victoria Krystynak (0-1) suffered the loss, tossing 3.2 innings, allowing three runs on six hits with two walks and one strikeout. Autumn Appleby yielded three hits, walked one and struck out one in 2.1 innings in the circle.
