Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Cedarville maintained its unblemished conference record (11-0) with a 75-58 win over Davis & Elkins on Saturday.
Sharmaine Baker paced the Senators with 19 points, including a layup with 12:09 remaining in the second half which gave her 1,000 points for her career. Ashley Bowles added 13 points.
Kayla Linkous led the Yellow Jackets with a double-double (18 points, 13 rebounds). Regina Hochstetler (13) and Raegan Ryan (10) also added double figures for CU.
Cedarville held a decisive 42-29 advantage on the glass. The Yellow Jackets were a perfect 11-of-11 at the free throw line, while D&E converted on just 14-of-22 attempts. CU outscored Davis & Elkins 30-9 on bench points.
The majority of the opening half was back-and-forth, with neither team leading by more than five. Cedarville scored nine of the final 11 points, taking a 34-27 lead into the locker room.
A Bowles three pulled D&E within two at 42-40 with just under 15 minutes to play. CU responded by burying five threes during a 15-5 run, making the score 57-45. D&E was never able to recover from the three point barrage, falling 75-58.
D&E continues its Ohio road trip on Thursday when they take on Ursuline at Lake Erie.
