NEWBERRY, S.C. – Davis & Elkins dropped a pair of contests to Newberry on Saturday. The Wolves claimed a 14-0 victory in game one, and completed the sweep by a 7-1 score in game two.

In game one, the Wolves exploded for 13 first inning runs and added one in the second to set the 14-0 margin.

Alexandra Lapallo (1-1) surrendered six runs on four hits with a pair of walks in one-third of an inning. Taylor Norton hurled 3.2 innings, allowing eight runs on 13 hits and walking three.

In game two, Newberry plated one run in the first, as well as two in both the second and third innings to grab a 5-0 lead. The Wolves added single runs in the fourth and fifth innings—extending their lead to 7-0. Ashley Dove put the Senators on the scoreboard with a sacrifice fly in the seventh to avoid the shutout, 7-1.

Autumn Appleby (0-2) tossed 4.2 innings, giving up seven runs (three earned) on eight hits, walking a pair and striking out two. Lapallo pitched the final 1.1 innings, yielding one hit.
