Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. – Davis & Elkins made just 5-of-30 shots (17 percent) in the opening half and dropped an 85-68 decision to Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday.
Ashley Bowles led all scorers with 21 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Sharmaine Baker added 11 points and Caitlyn O'Neal finished with 10.
Jordanne Gambill paced the Panthers with 10 points. Jill Jones and Jennifer Walker-Crawford each tallied 10 points.
KWC shot 54 percent (29-of-54) from the field. The Panthers won the rebounding battle, 45-37. D&E scored 21 second chance points on 17 offensive rebounds, but were outscored 46-16 in bench points.
Kentucky Wesleyan broke a 12-12 tie by outscoring the Senators 29-9 the remainder of the half. KWC took a 41-21 advantage to the locker room.
Davis & Elkins trimmed the deficit to 11 in the second half, but were unable to overcome the woeful start, falling 85-68.
The Senators travel to Concord on Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m.
