ELKINS, W.Va. – California (Pa.) made 10-of-10 free throws in the final three minutes to hand Davis & Elkins a 75-71 loss on Saturday night.

Wesley Sprinkle was 6-of-7 from beyond the arc to score 22 points and also handed out six assists. Kevin Bracy-Davis scored 18 points and Juwan Strothers added 10.

Richard Smith led the Vulcans with 19 points. Khalil Jabbie scored 16 points, converting on all 10 of his attempts at the free throw line. Daniel Sapp (14) and Arman Marks (12) also scored double-digits for the Vulcans.

Cal was just 9-of-18 from the charity stripe prior to connecting on their final 10 attempts. D&E limited its turnovers to 13, but the Vulcans translated them into 23 points. California (Pa.) won the rebounding battle. 33-30.

Davis & Elkins used a 9-0 run to take its largest lead of the game at 9-5. A three by Marks ignited a 20-4 blitz by the Vulcans, making the score 25-13. D&E responded with an 11-2 spurt, trimming the deficit to 27-24. Cal held a 34-30 lead at the break.

The Vulcans started the second half with a 14-4 surge, expanding their advantage to 48-33. The Senators responded with a 23-9 blitz, slicing the margin to one at 57-56. Davis & Elkins was able to grab a brief 64-63 lead, but a pair of Jabbie free throws on the ensuing possession put the Vulcans on top for good. California (Pa.) closed the game out at the free throw line, sealing the 75-71 win.
