- Scores were tight throughout the first three quarters, with neither team able to stretch their lead.
- Kali Wilburn scored a layup in traffic to give D&E the advantage with just over one minute left on the clock. The basket marked the beginning of a 7-0 scoring run for the home side.
- The Senators quickly won back possession, forcing the Broncos to foul. Shanda Howell made her first free throw but missed the second. Wilburn recovered the rebound and dished to Stepanie Wooten, who was also forced to the line to shoot two.
- Wooten lead the Senators with 17 points, Wilburn scored 12 and Tajee Pledger added in 11.
- D&E pulled down 47 rebounds, compared to 36 for Fayetteville State.
