How it Happened
First Half:
- The start of the first half saw the majority of possession in favor of the Senators.
- D&E held the edge in corner kicks 4-3
- Cedarville was able to hold Katrina Giantsopoulus to only six shots and half of those were on goal for Hanna Harris to handle.
- D&E had several chances but couldn't seem to place the ball past the goalkeeper Hanna Harris.
Second Half:
- Similar to the first half, the Senators came out strong and held the majority of possession early on.
- Cedarville and D&E both struggled to create solid chances for goals.
- Lauren Hill held strong for D&E in goal, facing shots from Kayliegh Rowlands and Creslyn Van Dyck for Cedarville.
OT:
- D&E and Cedarville both started strong and looked for early opportunities to secure the win.
- Lauren Hill came up big for the Senators 3 minutes in when she stopped a shot from Grace Miorelli.
- 7:18 into the first OT, Alyssa Maillefer scored off an assist from Jacoby Ziegler.
Senator Spotlight
"We had some quality early chances in the game that we didn't execute," stated coach Gene Smith. "We really limited their chances throughout the game but just didn't capitalize. It's an unfortunate end to such a brilliant season."
