- The Senators spoiled the home opener for West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats with the victory behind the duo of Wesley Sprinkle and Kevin Bracy-Davis. Sprinkle recorded a game-high 19 points with five rebounds, four assists and two steals, while Kevin Bracy-Davis added 18 points, nine boards, two steals, two assists and three blocks.
- Despite WVWC opening the game with a 6-2 run, D&E outscored Wesleyan over the next three minutes with a 12-2 run to take a 14-8 advantage. The Senators maintained the 21-18 lead at the 11:07 mark of the first half.
- Wesleyan rebounded with a run of their own, outscoring D&E 9-0 run over the next two and half minutes to reclaim the lead 27-21.
- With the game tied at 32-32 with a minute left in the opening half, Tanner McGrew's lay-up propelled Wesleyan to the 34-32 lead at the break.
- Davis & Elkins scored the first seven points of the second half to take a 39-34 lead. WVWC's Garrett Grantham tied the game at 45-45 with his three-pointer with 13:16 remaining in the game.
- The Senators opened their lead to 57-49 with 7:20 left and controlled the game down the stretch. D&E secured their biggest lead of the game with two minutes remaining building a 74-61 advantage.
- Four late three's by Wesleyan in the final two minutes narrowed the final margin to seven
- Kevin Simpson and Jordan McElveen finished with 13 and 11 points, respectively for D&E, while McGrew paced Wesleyan with a double-double 18 points and 14 rebounds.
