How it Happened
- The Senators opened the contest with a 12-4 run in the first four minutes behind Jordan McElveen who scored all eight of his first half points in the run. Lewis countered with a 20-7 run to grab a 24-19 advantage with 8:31 to go before the half. Kevin Bracy-Davis scored 10 of his game-high 28 points in the first half to give D&E a 42-41 advantage.
- D&E was without the services of Rickenjee Bellevue who injury his knee in the loss to Malone.
- The teams traded leads in the first eight minutes of the second half. With the game tied at 54-54 with 11:42 to go in the game, Lewis went on a 12-4 run led by a pair of Max Strus layups. Struts finished with a team-high 19 points with seven boards and seven assists.
- Lewis wouldn't relinquish the lead despite the Senators trimming the margin 69-68 with 6:57 remaining and 80-78 with 3:07 left.
- D&E's Wesley Sprinkle, who finished with 20 points, seven assists and two steal on the night, nearly pulled off a similar last-minute comeback that the Senators faced against Malone on Friday night. Sprinkle sank a three-pointer to cut the lead to 89-86 and nearly forced OT, but his trey at the buzzer would not fall.
- Kevin Simpson recorded 14 points, Aleksandar Vasiljevic added 12 and McElveen finished with 10.
Senator Synopsis
"We showed maturity tonight. We valued possessions and competed for 40 minutes," D&E Head Coach Nick Patella said. "Lewis was just a better team that really hurt us with their depth. I am very proud of the way we responded after last night's heartbreaker."
