The Basics

• The Short Story:  D&E came out swiftly hitting .429 behind three kills apiece from Charisse Mitchell, Sasha Johnson and Kayla Godwin.  The Senators limited the Pioneers to just .030 in the first set.  D&E continued their hot hitting and freshman Alexa Smarra had a pair of kills along with Elizabeth Estes and Godwin. Glenville State pushed hard to force a fourth set surging to a 7-3 advantage in set 3.  The teams battled to 10-10, before the Senators scored 13 of the next 19 points to take a 23-16 lead.   Glenville State narrowed the lead to 24-23, before Charisse Mitchell closed out the match with her fourth kill of the set.
  
  
• Sideout: The Senator Volleyball program raised awareness of breast cancer with the Dig Pink theme with shirt giveaways and other prizes, as well as opportunities to raise funds for breast cancer awareness and research.   D&E had special white uniforms with pink logos and numbers, as well as many in attendance were dressed in pink.
• How it Happened: Mitchell led all Senators with seven kills and hit .778 for the game, while Godwin and Devin Saucy finished with six kills apiece and Johnson and Estes each added five. D&E used three setters in each set in the game Haylee Murray finished with 15 assists in the first set, Zoe Craig had six assists in set two and freshman Briana Hoffman recorded her first career assists with 12 in the final set.
  
  
• Senator Synopsis: "The girls looked rejuvenated and ready to play from their long break between matches," Head Coach Kylie Carrington said. "I think it speaks volumes when a different lineup is put out on the court each set and the entire team is still involved and supporting each other. I'm hoping we keep high energy and stay focused for our next few weeks of the season."
