Cold Shooting Haunts Senators in 87-51 Setback to Cedarville

ELKINS, W.Va. -- Davis & Elkins struggled from the field, shooting just 24 percent (15-of-62) in an 87-51 setback against Cedarville on Thursday night.

Sharmaine Baker registered 19 points and five rebounds. 

Kayla Linkous led all scorers with 20 points to pace the Yellow Jackets. Abby Woodford (14) and Breanne Wattersworth (12) also scored in double figures for CU. The D&E defense limited G-MAC scoring leader, Raegan Ryan, to just five points and one made field goal.

Cedarville shot 49 percent (32-of-65) from the field. D&E turned the ball over 17 times, leading to 24 points for the Yellow Jackets. CU held a 55-32 advantage on the glass. The Cedarville bench outscored Davis & Elkins' bench, 52-11.

Trailing 11-10, the Yellow Jackets went on a 17-0 surge, taking a 26-11 lead. CU held a 47-25 advantage at the half.

D&E's offensive woes continued in the second half, as Cedarville coasted to the 87-51 victory.

The Senators will look to bounce back on Saturday against Central State at 2 p.m.
