Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. -- Cedarville collected a 69-58 victory over Davis & Elkins on Thursday evening.
Wesley Sprinkle led D&E with 13 points. Rashad Parker ripped down a game-high 12 rebounds.
J.C. Faubion (14), Marcus Reineke (13), Austin Pickett (13) and Easton Bazolli (12) all reached double figures for CU.
Davis & Elkins held a 38-29 advanatge on the glass. Cedarville forced 22 D&E turnovers and translated them into 23 points. CU shot 46 percent (25-of-55) from the field, including 8-of-19 from beyond the arc.
The Senators leapt in front 12-6 early with five points from T.J. Guthrie. Cedarville scored 10 of the next 15 points to pull within one at 17-16. The Jackets closed the half on an 11-4 run, capped by Jason Cuffie's three from just inside half court to take a 34-29 lead to the locker room.
The close battle continued in the second half, until Reineke found his range, leading the Yellow Jackets on a 21-8 blitz and extending CU's lead to 69-50. Reineke scored 11 of his 13 points during that stretch. D&E scored the final eight points of the contest, but it wasn't enough as Cedarville came away with the 69-58 win.
D&E returns to the court on Saturday at 4 p.m. against Central State.
