Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Trevecca outscored D&E 30-1 in bench points to earn an 84-79 victory on Saturday.
Wesley Sprinkle poured in a career-high 25 points, including burying 5-of-6 attempts from beyond the arc. Juwan Strothers added 18 points. Kevin Bracy-Davis posted 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Aleksandar Vasiljevic finished with 14 points.
Matt Gamberoni registered a double-double (23 points, 11 rebounds). Byron Sanford (17), Jacob Williams (17) and Jalen Pain (10) also reached double-digits for TNU.
Trevecca translated 16 D&E turnovers into 21 points. The Trojans held a slight 32-31 advantage on the glass.
Christopher Elliott sparked a 10-1 surge by the Trojans, making the score 17-10. Back-to-back Sprinkle threes pulled D&E within two at 20-18. Trevecca scored 21 of the final 30 points of the half to take a 43-34 lead to the locker room.
TNU expanded its advantage to 53-37 early in the second half. D&E stormed back with a 24-8 surge, tying the game at 61-61. The Senators grabbed a brief 70-69 lead, but Gamberoni scored the next six Trevecca points, making the score 75-72. The Trojans made 7-of-8 attempts at the charity stripe in the final minute to close out the 84-79 win.
