TNU Pulls Away from D&E, 93-70

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Trevecca scored 60 points in the second half to down Davis & Elkins, 93-70 on Saturday.

Stephanie Wooten led the Senators with 15 points. Ashley Bowles added 13 points and Caitlyn O'Neal posted a season-high 12 points. Sharmaine Baker was held to a season-low nine points.

Christina Curtner paced the Trojans with 21 points. Kaci Britt Bell (20), Paige Baugher (13) and Sarah Raby (11) also reached double figures for TNU.

Trevecca held a 50-40 advantage on the glass—including 22 offensive rebounds, which translated into 21 second chance points. D&E turned the ball over 22 times, leading to 27 points for TNU. Davis & Elkins connected on 18-of-22 attempts at the free throw line.

The Trojans scored on seven of their first eight possessions, taking a 15-4 lead. Caitlyn O'Neal buried a three, sparking an 18-7 blitz by the Senators to knot the game at 22-22. Back-to-back threes from Caitlyn O'Neal sent D&E on an 11-3 sprint to close the half. Davis & Elkins took a 35-33 lead to the locker room.

Baugher put the Trojans on top for good in the second halfwith a three making the score, 41-40. TNU methodically pulled away from there, leading by as many as 25 en route to the 93-70 victory.

Davis & Elkins returns to the McDonnell Center on Thursday evening against Ohio Valley at 5:30 p.m.
