ELKINS, W.Va. -- The Davis & Elkins swim teams swept Frostburg State on Friday evening at the George A. Myles Pool.
The D&E men posted a 114-83 victory and the women came away with a 97-77 win.
Kenya Paiz was victorious in the 1650 freestyle (19:15.06) and 400 individual medley (5:04.35). Brooke Bielecki took first in the 50 (25.28) and 100 (55.31) freestyle. Chelsea Faris out touched the competition in the 100 butterfly (1:04.94) and the 500 freestyle (5:36.86). Autumn Wunderlich posted a victory in the 100 backstroke (1:06.13).
Austin Pillado won the 1650 freestyle (17:39.21), 500 freestyle (5:11.98) and the 400 individual medley (4:33.29).Chris Swank finished first in the 200 freestyle (1:54.75). Nick Hiatt won the 100 butterfly in 56.83 seconds. Ty Montemoino touched first in the 100 freestyle (48.89). Colton Allen took top honors in the 100 backstroke (1:00.54).
"I am really pleased with the team performance tonight. We have been training pretty intensely since our return from Christmas break," coach Nicole Rose said. "The team isn't prepared to swim fast just yet, but they really did race well. Tomorrow is a tough meet for us as well as tough turn around. These types of situations are great practice for what we will be doing at the BMC Championship."
D&E dives back into the pool on Saturday against Shippensburg. It will be senior day for Melissa Pusanik.
