Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins women built a 17-point halftime lead, and rolled to an 87-70 victory over Central State.
Sharmaine Baker poured in a game-high 26 points. Stephanie Wooten registered 19 points and nine assists on the afternoon. Mary Jane Braham posted a career-best 13 points. Ashley Bowles notched a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Iniquia Snell paced the Marauders with 19 points. Jasmine Cooper posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Davis & Elkins held a 48-40 advantage on the glass—including 15 offensive rebounds, which translated into 12 second chance points. The Senators sank 22-of-29 (76 percent) attempts at the charity stripe. The D&E bench outscored CSU's bench, 40-23.  Davis & Elkins turned 17 Central State turnovers into 21 points.
D&E used a 9-0 run to turn a 13-9 deficit into an 18-13 lead. Davis & Elkins scored the final 13 points of the half to take a 47-30 advantage into the locker room.
The Senator lead expanded to 25 at 71-46 nearly midway through the second half. The Marauders went on a furious 18-3 run over the next seven minutes, pulling within 10 at 74-64. The margin proved too much, as D&E regained control and claimed the 87-70 win.
