Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. – Central State's full court pressure forced 23 turnovers and generated 30 points in an 82-60 win over D&E on Saturday.
Juwan Strothers paced Davis & Elkins with 19 points. Kevin Bracy-Davis added 10 points and Rashad Parker pulled down 10 rebounds.
Sterling Gilmore led the Marauders with 20 points. Maceo Harmon finished with 19 points, while both Rahemm Lemons and Tre' Edwards each scored 10 points.
Davis & Elkins shot 48 percent, while CSU hit on just 41 percent; but the Marauders put up 73 shots to only 46 for D&E. Central State won the rebounding battle 40-36, and limited their own turnovers to just seven.
The Marauders opened up an 11-4 lead in the first half, ignited by a three from Gilmore. Davis & Elkins scored 14 of the next 21 points to pull within one at 19-18. Gilmore responded with a three, sending CSU on an 11-1 blitz, extending the lead to 30-19. Central State took a 38-29 advantage to the locker room.
CSU forced turnovers on D&E's first six possessions in the second half, going on a 12-0 run to take a commanding 50-29 lead. The Marauders didn't look back, leading by as many as 26 on their way to the 82-60 win.
Davis & Elkins hosts non-conference foe Bluefield State on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
