Box Score 2 OWENSBORO, Ky. – Davis & Elkins and Kentucky Wesleyan each earned one conference win on Sunday. D&E took game one 4-2 in eight innings, while the Panthers won game two, 2-1 in eight innings.
KWC recorded RBI doubles in the third and fifth innings to take a 2-0 lead. A pair of KWC errors led to a sacrifice fly by Kayla Whoolery and a RBI single by Chelsie Stover, sending the game into extra frames tied at 2-2. Danille Norton homered to open the eighth inning and Stover added a RBI single, setting the 4-2 margin.
Alanna Jones (6-7) tossed seven innings, yielding two runs (one earned) on seven hits with five strikeouts and one walk. Amber LaBille hurled a perfect inning to pick up her first save of the season.
In game two, the Panthers took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a sacrifice fly. Whoolery tied the game at 1-1 with a RBI single in third. KWC scored the game-winning run on a dropped fly ball in the eighth.
Labille (3-11) allowed two runs (one earned) one seven hits with three strikeouts and a pair of walks in 7.2 innings of work.
