ELKINS, W.Va. – The Davis & Elkins men's tennis team secured the regular season conference championship with wins over Central State (9-0) and Cedarville (8-1).
The title marks the first under fifth year head coach Otis Cutshaw.
The Senators dispatched the Marauders with little problem in Friday's 9-0 win.
Davis & Elkins jumped to a 3-0 following doubles play against the Yellow Jackets. D&E claimed victories in singles #1-5, including Vincent Hamon's 6-4, 6-2 win at the #1 singles, which clinched the match and the league title.
Men's tennis is in its first year as a G-MAC sponsored sport, and features only three programs (Davis & Elkins, Cedarville and Central State).
D&E hosts Shepherd on Sunday afternoon.
