Box Score 2 NASHVILLE, W.Va. – Trevecca Nazarene swept a G-MAC doubleheader against Davis & Elkins on Saturday. The Trojans took game one, 5-0 and rallied for a walk-off 6-5 win in game two.
TNU blasted a three-run homer in the first and tacked on a pair of runs in the fourth to set the 5-0 margin.
Alanna Jones (5-7) surrendered five runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and four walks.
Trevecca Nazarene scored one run in both the third and fourth innings to go in front, 2-0. Kayla Whoolery cut the deficit in half with a RBI in the sixth. TNU notched a solo home run in the bottom of the inning. A two-run blast by Amber Labille knotted the game at 3-3 in the seventh. Katelyn Norton and Corrine Carrington each added RBI, giving D&E a 5-3 lead. A lead-off walk, followed by three base hits—including a two-run walk-off double—allowed TNU to pick up the 6-5 win.
Amber LaBille (3-10) surrendered six runs on 11 hits with two strikeouts and a pair of walks.
Davis & Elkins travels to Kentucky Wesleyan on Sunday for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. EST.
